Visual Merchandising at Birmingham and Solihull Womens Aid

interning at Birmingham and solihull women's aid I took on a visual merchandising role. I created weekly window and in store displays to boost sales and raise money for BSWAID. The windows used visual merchandising techniques learnt through modules in university. Each window drew inspiration from events and emerging trends at the time such as the animal print trend, festival season and vintage revival. Furthermore, the windows also had the underlying message of how living sustainably didn't have to be expensive. All items in the windows were sourced  from  BSWAID charity shops and given as donations from the community in Birmingham.

within the role I also learnt about managing and supporting volunteers helping organise shifts for the volunteers and ensuring there was enough staff to complete daily tasks. I also gained an insight into  the process the donations go through to reach the shop floor, and the work the BSWAID charity was doing in the local community.
